The tradition of the FIREWORKS exhibitions started 40 years ago. Held every two years, FIREWORKS has come to symbolize the best in contemporary clay and glass by FUSION members and is displayed in galleries throughout Ontario.

“Pave Paradise“ has now been juried into the Anthropocene-themed exhibition at QuestArt. Interesting to note is that the Edward Burtynsky Anthropocene exhibition at the AGO gave me the inspiration to mount the multimedia exhibition which of course was consequently cancelled for Covid-19.
“2020 TD Thor Wealth Management Juried Exhibition: Quest for the Environment†exhibition was open to artists across Canada to bring quality artwork to the central Ontario area.

The Ontario Society of Artists has been mounting exhibitions of members' works since the society began in 1872. OSA is the longest continually operating art society in Canada. The first exhibition was in 1873. Every year since then, the catalogue for the exhibition is deposited with the Government of Ontario Archives as a record of this storied artists' society. The catalogue for this exhibition will be available. Please contact me if you wish to have a copy. The cost is around $20.
Due to Covid 19, in 2020 the exhibition is being held online.
I am so very proud to be a part of this art group. My painting, Bergamot Haze* shown here and in the online gallery, is 30"x30" on gallery canvas, edges painted black, suitable for hanging as is. *Bergamot Haze shows the glow of masses of magenta pink bergamot blooms over the cultivated native meadow in July.

The artists were asked to enter work that reflected their feelings and thoughts about what Canada means to them. I entered "Teach Your Children Well" which is my response to the mosque shootings in Quebec City in January 2017. The message is strong but so are my feelings. . As we sow, so shall we reap. What the world needs now is a strengthening of the common personal values that make a society function. Teach your children well at home as well as at school.

Highlights 2017 is an enhanced version of the Annual EAG‘s Members’ Choice exhibition which is traditionally held in January or February. This year’s May/June date offers members an end-of-the-year choice of the best in their artistic accomplishment in classes, workshops, juried shows, various other exhibitions and ultimately in their own working space.
In honour of this exhibition, there will be a vote for a Viewers’ Choice award this year.
The winner will be announced at the reception, Wednesday June 7. Bar and appetizers will be served.

Progressions V has arrived at the McMichael Canadian Collection in Kleinberg.
Progressions V consists of 29 12"x16" landscape paintings by 29 artists. The works, which were painted in the Pine Cottage at the McMichael Canadian Collection in Kleinberg, will also be shown in 5 other locations in Ontario.
John Leonard RCA organized this exhibition of work. Many of the participating artists have been mentored by John and we are grateful for his involvement.
My painting 'Burnt' abstractly considers the devastation created by wild fires in the Okanagan Lake valley. The painting which is done in the manner of the current series with black textured underpainting, is an echo of my previous Okanagan Lake series.
The closing date for Progressions V is undetermined at this time.

Dragonfly Arts on Broadway Presents "Hills and Meadows" a Solo Exhibition by Cheryl Bailey, Visual Artist

After a successful opening "Meet the Artist" on February 4th, @Dragonfly Arts on Broadway is hosting a solo exhibition by Cheryl Bailey. Paintings will be available on the Feature Wall in beautiful downtown Orangeville, Ontario for the rest of the month of February. Dragonfly Arts is located at 189 Broadway Ave. on the north side of the street, near the corner of 1st Street. Look for the large moose sculpture out on the sidewalk.

Progressions V Travelling Exhibition

Progressions V is a travelling exhibition of 29 12"x16" landscape paintings by 29 artists. The works which were painted in the Pine Cottage at the McMichael Canadian Collection will be shown in locations in Ontario . The first stop on the tour was at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre in Oakville(Dec-Mar).

The painting by Cheryl Bailey, titled "Burnt", considers an abstracted vision of the area in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia that has been hit by devastating fires in recent years. "Burnt" crosses over from the previous Okanagan Lake series to the current series with black textured underpainting.

I am pleased to announce that my painting "Done for the Day" has been accepted into the Neilson Park Creative Centre Juried Show "IMPACT 2015." Progressions IV Opening March 22, 2015 at the McMichael Canadian Collection in Kleinberg, Ontario

Progressions IV is a travelling exhibition of 16 12"x16" landscape paintings by 16 artists. The works will be shown in several locations in Ontario. The first exhibition will open at the McMichael Canadian Collection in Kleinberg on Feb 28, 2015. A reception will be held on March 22 at 12 noon - 2 pm in the Founders' Lounge. John Leonard will deliver comments at 12 pm. The McMichael segment of the travelling exhibition is now closed.
The Sir Sandford Fleming College-Haliburton School of the Arts segment of the Progressions IV tour is open from May 11 until Jun 15th 2015.

Etobicoke Art Group 51st Annual Juried Exhibition
The charge to the jurors of this exhibition states that "they will select works of a range of media and subject matter which show technical excellence, originality in content and composition, and that extra 'intangible' creative spark" . First , second and third place awards will be presented. Jurors' awards may also be presented.
The Jurors this year are Warren Hoyano and Janice Mason Steeves.
Both of the entries by Cheryl Bailey were accepted to this exhibition. They are titled "Near Canmore" and "The Straight and Narrow."
The opening reception will be held on Wednesday evening May 6 at 7:30 pm. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
