Today was the last studio for the year at the Etobicoke Art Group. Members are busy preparing for the Members' exhibition "Highlights" which will open on May 25. The reception will be held the following week on June 7 because there are a number of people who will be at the Advanced Individual Studies in Haliburton.

So there was no lecture today but a lot of critiquing and tying up of loose ends. I got the stamp of approval on one painting started last week as well as 2 other paintings that were tweaked since last week. Checked off.

When I got home, email news awaited that there was a commission as a result of the sales last week on ArtBomb. I am to do the same composition as the painting called Near Canmore. It will be somewhat different as my process and technique have evolved since Near Canmore was painted a couple years ago. The medium is drying and I will be able to draw on the composition and start painting tomorrow--- after the bluebells.

Virginia bluebells are blooming in the 16 Mile creek ravine. I know where to go now thanks to a naturalist who knew about the swath of bluebells. Apparently the bluebells don't grow much further north than Oakville. A curtailed trip earlier this week yielded spring beauty, white trout lily, mayapple and bloodroot. There were also lots of trilliums which I have near home. Ahh Spring!
